Chile – SEC Approves Protocol to Regulate Computer Power Supplies

SUBTEL Type Approval Delays

Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles (SEC) in Chile has approved Protocol PE Number 8/9:2019 that states all power supplies for both desktop and portable computers must have SEC certification.  Starting January 2, 2021, all computer power supplies must have SEC approval when entering the country for marketing.

iCertifi recommends that manufacturers and/or importers begin the process of certifying computer power supplies before the effective date to avoid setbacks when entering the market.
