Vietnam – MIC Draft Regulations for LPWAN

MIC Issues New Technical Regulations

The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MIC), has drafted National Technical Regulations for LPWAN devices. MIC currently has no specific regulation for LPWAN products, including LoRa (Long Range) and LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide-Area Network) products.

Details of the regulation are as follows:

  • The new regulation is equivalent to EN 300 220-1 v3.1.1 test method and ETSI EN 300 220-2 v3.2.1 limits
  • Frequency band 920MHz – 922.5MHz
  • Max 306.2 mW ERP (500mW EIRP)
  • The equipment must use the technique below to reduce spurious emission:
    • Duty cycle must not exceed 10% (for Access station / Gateway) and not exceed 1% (for Sensor / End point)
