On July 9, 2020, MIC Vietnam issued Circular No.15/2020/TT-BTTTT defining the technical regulations for lithium batteries used for handheld devices (mobile phone, tablet, and laptops) – QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT.
Key features:
- QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT shall replace QCVN 101:2016/BTTTT from July 1, 2020. All batteries and cells which are currently sold to Vietnam after the enforcement date will need to be retested according to the new technical regulation QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT.
- The addition of Shock test and Vibration test are new features of the safety requirements in QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT
