China – Regulation Y2021 Nº 129 for 2400MHz, 5100MHz and 5800MHz

On October 13, 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued Regulation Y2021 Nº 129 on the 2400MHz, 5100MHz and 5800MHz bands. Effective October 15, 2023, the relevant radio transmitting equipment must meet the technical requirements listed in the new notice for SRRC approval.

Main changes of the Regulation include:

  • WLAN equipment with public network IP address allocation function shall support IPv6 protocol and enable IPv6 address allocation function by default.
  • Additional technical requirements for multiple antennas
  • Calculation method of synthetic gain and shaping gain is added
  • Addition of various interference avoidance technical requirements for radio transmitting equipment such as monitoring and avoidance, pre-launch search and equivalent occupancy rate

Please note that before October 15, 2023, the radio transmitting equipment that meets the original regulations but does not meet the technical requirements listed in the notice can still apply for a new SRRC approval or a renewal according to the original provisions.
