On October 14, 2021, the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issued Circular No. 08/2021/TT-BTTTT which specifies the list of devices exempt from radio frequency license with accompanying technical and operational conditions.
Main highlights of the Circular are:
- Products which do not meet the Circular No. 08/2021/TT-BTTT requirements can be imported first, then be adjusted to the pre-specified level before applying for in-country testing
- RLAN equipment has been added to group of “Wireless Local Area Network” equipment
- LPWAN equipment has been added together with its corresponding Appendix
- 2400MHz – 2483.5MHz and 5725MHz – 5850MHz ISM bands can be used for remote control devices
- New range for UWB device which is 7238.4 – 9000MHz
The new MIC Circular No. 08/2021/TT-BTTTT shall take effect from November 28, 2021 and replace Circular 46/2016/TT-BTTTT and Circular 18/2018/TT-BTTTT.
