South Africa - ICASA Resumes Type Approval Activities

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), has published Notice 737 of 2021, which updates Annexure B of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations, 2015. Annexure B contains updates regarding maximum radiated power, field strength or sensitivity limits, and relevant testing standards for unlicensed frequency bands.

The document also calls out a reminder that all radio apparatus must be type-approved by the Authority regardless of the unlicensed spectrum status.
