On December 16, 2021, the Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) announced the deployment of the new 5G network for mobile technologies in Chile. Thus, they become the first country in the Latin American region to have 5G nationwide.
According to the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Gloria Hutt, “It is the cornerstone of our strategy to turn Chile into a Digital Hub in the region and that will allow our country to join the new 4.0 digital economy with force.”
