Important update, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted Order FCC 22-84, which aims to protect against national security threats to the communications supply chain through the Equipment Authorization Program. This order amends the Equipment Authorization Program by requiring a U.S. Agent for the FCC certification process effective February 6, 2023.
U.S. Agent for Service of Process Requirements:
- Agent must be located in the U.S. and provide U.S. address/phone
- Agent can be Individual Entity or a Company Entity
- Entity acting as Agent must have FRN
- Agent cannot be a TCB or affiliated with a TCB
- Agent cannot be a (FCC recognized) Lab or affiliated with a test lab
