- Client Devices (CD): CD devices are allowed a maximum EIRP of 24 dBm and a maximum EIRP spectral density of -1 dBm/MHz.
- Out-of-band Emissions: Devices must not exceed an EIRP of -27 dBm/MHz for out-of-band emissions.
- Indoor Use Only: The use of the 6 GHz band is restricted to indoor environments, such as buildings.
- Containment Protocol: Access points, client devices, and slave devices must utilize a “containment protocol” that enables multiple users to share the same spectrum efficiently.
- Prohibition of Use in Vehicles: The operation of Wi-Fi devices within the 6 GHz band is prohibited in vehicles, including cars, trains, boats, and planes. However, these devices will be allowed to operate in aircraft when flying above 10,000 feet.
- Effective Date: The allocation of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi operation has been in effect since May 24th, 2023.
- ENACOM Homologation (RAMATEL Registration): It is mandatory for devices operating within the allocated spectrum to undergo ENACOM Homologation, which involves registration under the RAMATEL system.
