On August 31, 2023, MIIT issued “Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Revising and Issuing the Model Approval Certificate Style and Code Encoding Rules for Radio Transmission Equipment”. This comes as a follow up to our February blog regarding the MIIT update to the “Regulations on the Management of Radio Transmission Equipment” (Decree No. 57 of 2022 of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology).

2. The model approval code of radio transmission equipment has a total of 12 characters, which is composed of five parts: year code, equipment code, territory code, enterprise code and autonomous code, as follows:
