Singapore – Safety Mark Under 62368-1 for AC Adaptors That Deliver >100W to Connected Equipment

IMDA Important Updates on 3G Network Cessation

On September 7, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO) in Singapore, issued a notice to suppliers and conformity bodies regrading the certification requirements under IEC 62368-1 for AC adaptors that can deliver more than 100W of power to connected equipment, CPSO-070923-11.

AC adaptors, are classified as Controlled Goods under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR), and are required to comply with relevant safety standards such as IEC 62368-1. Circular CPSO-070923-11 provides clarity on the testing and and certification requirements for AC adaptors which can deliver >100W of power.

Compliance to the relevant safety standards IEC 62368-1 is required for Controlled Good registration and renewal. All AC adaptors that can deliver >100W to connected equipment which have been registered prior to this circular will need to comply with the requirements specified in part A or B during their CoC renewal.
