India – TEC Update on Mandatory Certification Dates Under MTCTE

On July 1, 2024, The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India published an extension of the mandatory certification date for 5 products under MTCTE. This change affects products notified under Phases III, IV, and V, as detailed in previous notifications.

Extended Certification Dates:

The mandatory certification dates for the following five products have been extended to October 1, 2024:

  1. Smart Electricity Meter (Phase III)
  2. Satellite Communication Equipment (Phase IV)
  3. Base Station for Cellular Network for 5G (Phase V)
  4. Hypervisor (Phase V)
  5. IP Terminal (Phase V)

Extension of ILAC Report Acceptance:

Additionally, there has been an extension in the acceptance of test reports issued by labs accredited by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) from non-border sharing countries. The new deadline for ILAC report acceptance for technical parameters of the specified products is September 30, 2024, for all products listed below:

  1. Base Station for Cellular Network (up to 4G) (Phase III)
  2. SIM (Phase IV)
  3. VHF UHF Radio Equipment System (Phase IV)
  4. Base Station for Cellular Network for 5G (Phase V)
  5. E-band Fixed Radio Relay Systems (Phase V)

It is important to note that test reports from ILAC signatories should not be older than two years at the time of their submission on the MTCTE Portal.
