The Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) has removed its exemption parameters for short-range devices (SRD). This change means that all SRD equipment in Kenya will now require an approval certificate, similar to other types of communication equipment.
Previously, certain SRD equipment could enter the Kenyan market without formal approval from CAK. However, following numerous requests and growing concerns about the need for regulation, CAK has decided to standardize the process.
