Key Changes to Type Approval Requirements

1. Certificate Validity Reduction

One of the major changes in the update is the reduction of certificate validity. Previously, approval certificates issued by TRA were valid indefinitely. However, under the new regulations, the validity period for these certificates will be limited to four years. This change is retroactive, meaning that all approval certificates issued prior to this law will also be affected, with the four-year period commencing from the date of issuance.

2. New Labeling Requirements

In line with the updated regulations, TRA has announced a new labeling requirement for approved products. The new labels must include a QR code. This QR code is intended to provide easy access to detailed product information and regulatory compliance status.
