IVORY COAST: NEW REGULATIONS ON 868-870 MHz FOR IOT DEVICES

The Agence des Régulations et des Télécommunications de Cote d’Ivoire (ARTCI) has issued a new directive. Decision number 2017-0360 amends the earlier regulation on the 868 – 870 MHz frequency range.

According to the new regulation, the 868 – 870 MHz band is freely accessible for devices, networks and services of the IOT throughout the national territory.  The new provisions also establish the use of this frequency band and are described in Article 4.  It states that IOTs with a maximum transmission power of 25 mW requires mandatory approval.  Equipment that has a maximum power of 500 mW will also require approval plus a network distribution notification addressed to ARTCI.
