Brazil – New Regulation for Conformity Assessment – No Homologation Fee

The Board of Directors of the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) has published Resolution 715, the new Regulation for Conformity Assessment and Homologation of Telecommunications Products. Several changes are defined in the new regulation that will be implemented within a 6 month period. The official notice can be viewed here. Devices are still subject to testing and verification of technical standards.

Changes effective immediately are as follows:

  • The homologation fee for telecommunications products approved by ANATEL, including amateur radio equipment, drones and products imported for their own use, will no longer be charged.
  • A Market Surveillance Process will be implemented where samples will be required for local testing.
