The Botswana Telecommunications Authority (BOCRA), announced that effective July 30, 2020, all Type Approval certificates will have a permanent validity.
If your device is currently certified under BOCRA with an expiration date, you should request for a new certificate to be issued with no expiration, if you wish to continue distributing the equipment. The request should be made three months prior to the expiration date.
Manufacturers are reminded that any variations or upgrades of equipment, where such upgrades impact equipment safety, EMC, spectrum use, and standards, would still require a new Type Approval application.
