On February 6, 2020, ANATEL approved the proposal for a Bidding Notice of the radio frequency bands that will allow the implementation of 5G technology in Brazil. A Public Consultation will be opened, which will be available for 45 days to receive suggestions. There will also be a public hearing to discuss the matter, to be held in Brasília (Brazil’s capital), on a date to be determined.
ANATEL is still working on the technical requirements to approve 5G devices in Brazil. So far, it is not possible to approve this technology for market access.
