As mentioned in our December blog, ANATEL will currently allow the approval of equipment with 5G (NR) technology to be tested and certified according to 2G/ 3G/ 4G technologies and permit the submission of the 5G (NR) test reports for these technologies until January 31, 2021. It is important to note that this applies to 5G NR technology exclusively and all other functions should be tested as usual.
ANATEL has now released 12/2021/ORCN/SOR-ANATEL that has extended the deadline until March 31, 2021 to submit final 5G test reports for the approval of 5G devices. However, if the 5G tests fail, a recall of all units sold will be required.
