On November 29, 2021, the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes (ANATEL) published two new Acts that update technical requirements for Access Terminal Station (ETA – devices with WWAN) and for mobile phones.
Act Nº 10002 – Updates Act 3151 related to the technical requirements for Access Terminal Station
Act Nº 10003 – Updates Act 3152 related to the technical requirements for Mobile Phone
Both Acts add the inclusion of the of the 5G NR Frequency Range 2 (FR2) for Standalone and Non-Standalone inter-band and intra-band non contiguous and the inclusion of NB-IoT NB2. Due to the test updates for the 4G and 5G dual connectivity (EN-DC combinations), ANATEL has put in place a 6 month grace period for manufacturers to present test reports for the new EN-DC combinations from devices approved before this act.
