Brazil- ANATEL Official Letter No. 429/2023

ANATEL Act 14430

On November 21, 2023, ANATEL published the Official Letter 429/2023 . This letter formally affirms ANATEL’s comprehension that all testing reports, whether completed domestically or overseas, must adhere to and fulfil Act 4083’s criteria, including the data on traceability.

The most significant information in this letter is that testing reports completed overseas will no longer be accepted before OCD has validated the traceability letter and given the go-ahead to begin testing.

Act 7280 permits ANATEL to accept foreigner reports for a number of particular items, including OLT, digital multiplexers, coaxial cables, some types of optical cables, satellite transceivers, and non-RF network switches for corporate or industrial usage.

Act 4083 states in item 6.3.1.5 that the maker or applicant MUST officially notify the OCD (ANATEL Certification Body) of the following prior to the test’s commencement:

I: The production facility where the sample was created; and

II – The sample’s traceability that was provided for examination.
