On September 1, 2023 ANATEL published the updated Act 13011. This new law delayed the effective date of Act 5159, providing charger manufacturers additional time to comply with its standards. The new mechanical testing performed on the power plug that connects to the electrical AC mains socket caused concern among manufacturers.
As a result, up to April 14, 2024, charger manufacturers will have the option of having their charger approved under Act 3481/2019 (the Old Act) or Act 5159/2022 (the New Act).
