Brazil – ANATEL Certification for 5G Brazil

ANATEL Act 14430

On June 12, 2020, ANATEL published Acts 3151, 3152 and 3153 which define 5G test requirements, allowing all devices with this new technology to be commercialized in Brazil.

  • Act 3151 – Updates the technical requirements for assessing the conformity of the Access Terminal Station
  • Act 3152 – Updates the technical requirements for assessing the conformity of Mobile Cellular Phone
  • Act 3153 – Updates the technical requirements for assessing the conformity of Transceiver for Radio Base Station

Currently ANATEL will accept the certification of 5G devices operating in the 3G and 4G bands (B1/2/3/5/7/8/28/38/39/B40). ANATEL will also accept 5G NR tests issued by a foreign laboratory that is accredited by ILAC and the testing must be done within 2 years.
