Canada – ISED Opens Public Consultation on RSS-247 Issue 3

Public consultation RSS-247

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has announced a new public consultation on the RSS-247, issue 3, “Digital Transmission Systems (DTSs), Frequency Hopping Systems (FHSs), and License-Exempt Local Area Network (LE-LAN) Devices”. This standard outlines the technical requirements for equipment certification of license-exempt radio apparatus operating in the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, and 5 GHz frequency bands.

ISED has specifically requested feedback on the 5850-5895 MHz band requirements, which are associated with the publication of SMSE 012-22 Decision on the Technical and Policy Framework for Radio Local Area Network Devices in the 5850-5895 MHz Band and for Intelligent Transportation Systems in the 5895-5925 MHz Band. This presents a great opportunity for individuals and organizations to provide their feedback and suggestions on this important standard.

If you have any comments, you can submit them to the Radio Advisory Board of Canada before May 3rd, 2023, using the link provided in the official announcement.
