Chile Changing Modular Approval Regulations

Chile Changing Modular Approval Regulations

Effective immediately, Chile’s certification agency, SUBTEL, who regulates the country’s telecommunications sector, has reversed its previous stance on allowing modular type approvals.  In the past, manufacturers could certify their wireless modules and add to their end devices with no additional certification requirements.  Due to problems the agency has faced, SUBTEL will now only allow the certification of end devices. In addition, test reports must be submitted on the end product, not the module.

You can contact iCertifi for additional information on this or other type approval questions.
