The authority in charge of approving telecommunications equipment in Chile, SUBTEL, has revised the update to new type approval requirements. The new requirements will be effective as of July 1, 2020.
As mentioned in our post from March 10, 2020, SUBTEL will no longer accept test reports on modules for approval, only on end devices.
The new update states:
- Applications submitted before March 2, 2020 will be processed and completed based on the previous approval procedure
- Applications that were submitted before March 2, 2020 and were rejected for not complying with the new procedure may be resubmitted and will be processed under the previous approval procedure
- New applications submitted until June 30, 2020 will be processed under the previous procedure – must have module declaration letters plus module reports to submit for a host application
- Applications submitted after June 30, 2020 will be subject to the new procedure – only host test reports will be accepted
