On October 17, 2020, the Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) published an update to Resolution 1985 Exempt Fixed Technical Standard for Reduced Reach Equipment.
Updates to Technical specifications are as follows:
- 5150-5250 MHz: EIRP limit was increased from 250mW to 1W (max 17mW/MHz density in 1MHz bands)
- WiFi 6 frequency added: 5925-7125 MHz with EIRP limit of 30 dBm and following requirements:
- Only for indoor use.
- Can only have integrated antennas that can’t be removed or replaced.
- Must not have connectors or possibility to add more antennas.
- Must not have internal batteries or space for them.
- Reduced the number of Test Reports accreditations required, from 2 to 1
