China – New SRRC regulations

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), announced yesterday that they plan to implement new SRRC regulations. Beginning October 15, 2018 SRRC test fees will be cancelled and payed for by the Ministry.

According to the announcement, the reason for the new service is to reduce the transaction costs and burdens for manufacturers. The new regulation from  MIIT No° 47 can be viewed here. Although testing fees are waived, devices still require SRRC certification and testing at an approved lab and must have the CMIIT ID approval number affixed to the outside. Manufacturers should be aware that samples are ready and can complete all required testing within 5 days. If they do not pass testing the first time, there will be SRRC testing fees applied.
