On December 4, 2017 ANATEL issued ACT 14448, which introduced the requirement of EMC Radiated Tests for Category II devices. As we mentioned in April’s post, due to disagreements of OCDs and labs over how the testing methods would be conducted on devices with multiple technologies and frequencies, the act was postponed for three months by ACT 2311.
The new regulation is now expected to take effect by July 1, 2018 and requires EMC radiated test (radiated emission and immunity) and will effect any new certifications applied for after that date.
