ENACOM – New Testing Protocols for Frequency Hopping and Digital Broadband Systems

Argentina - ENACOM Updated Standard For Cellular Devices Now Allows 5G Approvals

On October 28, 2020 ENACOM published Note NO-2020-73167532-APN-SNYE#ENACOM to introduce updates to the Testing Protocols for Frequency Hopping and Digital Broadband Systems in Argentina.

Highlights of the note are as follows:

  • New Testing Protocol for Frequency Hopping Systems V20.1
    • New dedicated section for the testing of Hybrid Systems
    • For devices that have the possibility of setting different transmission bandwidths, minimum and maximum configurable bandwidths must be now verified.
  • New Testing Protocol for Broadband Digital Modulation Systems V20.1
    • For devices having the possibility of setting different transmission bandwidths, minimum and maximum configurable bandwidths must be now verified.
    • New limit for unwanted emissions has been set to 30dBc.

Both testing protocols will become effective December 1, 2020 and implemented by laboratories for new procedures. However, regarding renewals, the former test reports submitted for the original registration will be accepted, as long as compliance with the limits established in the new regulations are demonstrated.
