The Communication Service Proclamation 1148/2019 published on August 12, 2019 established the Ethiopian Communications Authority, defining its mandates and objectives. It also drafts the main orientations for the regulation of telecommunications services in Ethiopia. There are no changes in type approval requirements at this time, but future certificates will be issued by ECA, rather than MIT.
