On March 1, 2024, The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched a public consultation for the 31st update of the REACH Candidate List. This initiative aims to include two substances of high concern, reinforcing efforts to protect human health and the environment.
Substances Overview:
- Bis(α,α-dimethylbenzyl) peroxide (EC: 201-279-3, CAS: 80-43-3): Identified as toxic for reproduction, this substance is utilized in plastics, chemicals, and rubber production.
- Triphenyl phosphate (TPhP) (EC: 204-112-2, CAS: 115-86-6): With potential endocrine-disrupting properties, TPhP is commonly found in plastics, cosmetics, adhesives, and sealants.
