As of July 1, 2021, the EAC has enacted new requirements for the registration of EAC Declarations of Conformity. According to Decree No. 877 of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the submission of a Global Location Number (GLN) is now mandatory.
However, according to a the latest Decree No. 936 of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation dated June 19, 2021, a transition period for specifying the GLN number will be extended until September 1, 2021.
What is a GLN Code?
Global Location Number (GLN) and Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) are some of the global identification systems provided by the international non-profit organization GS1. The Global Location Number (GLN) is used by manufacturers to identify locations and legal entities. This unique identifier is comprised of a GS1 Company Prefix, Location Reference, and Check Digit. GLNs are recognized worldwide.
