The decree A/2010/353/MTNTI/SGG/2010 for type-approval procedures of telecommunications equipment and terminals has been updated. In Article 07, it states “The manufacturer or his authorized representative wishing to have his equipment approved shall submit an application for evaluation of the quality assurance system to the ARPT.” Article 3 of the same decree states the following: “The aim of the type-approval procedure is to ensure compliance with essential requirements and to certify that the material can be used on the telecommunications public network.” The following equipment types are affected by this change of type approval:
• Digital tablet
• Smartphones
• Fixed and mobile phone
• Single-function and multi-functional printers
• USB modem
• Bluetooth cards
• Personal computers and laptops
• Broadcast transmitters (OM, OC et FM)
• TV transmitter
• TV tuner and FM radio receiver
• HF, VHF, UHF Radio
• Digital decoder/receiver
• Earth station equipment (BUC et LNB) • Telematic equipment
• Wi-Fi equipment
• Remote alarm devices
• Routers, servers, switch
• TNT Decoder/Modem
• Radar equipment
This decree concerns equipment approved by the regulator but which does not comply with the security standards while being used. The regulator does not want to take any kind of risk. It wants to maintain constant pressure on all the stakeholders in the Republic of Guinea.
All companies who want to enter the ICT market in Guinea are obliged to comply with the provisions.
