ISED Canada has announced a mandatory four-day shutdown of the Spectra system to implement the Code Drop 58 update. During this period, all affected systems will be offline, impacting database functions and application processing.
Shutdown Schedule
Start: Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 8:00 AM (EST)
End: Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 8:00 PM (EST)
What to Expect During the Spectra Shutdown
- No Access to Spectra Servers: The system will be completely unavailable for four days.
- Database Functions Affected: The REL, TAR search, company search, and lab search tools will be offline. However, searching for recognized CBs & Labs will remain available.
- REL Listings & Applications Impact: Applications already granted and not under deferred listing will appear on the REL before shutdown. Listings with deferred dates falling within the shutdown period will be posted once Spectra is restored.
- Internal Reviews on Hold: Any applications under ISED internal review that are not completed before the shutdown will resume processing after the system is back online.

Will approved applications still be listed on the REL?
Yes, applications granted before the shutdown (without deferred listing dates) will be listed before the shutdown begins.
Applications with deferred listing dates within the shutdown will be listed once Spectra is back online.
Will ISED continue reviewing applications during the shutdown?
No, all internal reviews and approvals will be on hold. Any applications still in process will be reviewed once Spectra is back online.
