On March 12, 2021, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) in India, announced an extension of the Phase V Products that will be mandatory to BIS certification.
Originally Phase V of “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order 2012” was to take effect on April 1, 2021 and now will become effective October 1, 2021.
Devices in Phase V include:
- Wireless Microphones
- Digital Camera
- Video Camera
- Webcam (Finished Products)
- Smart Speakers (with and without Display)
- Bluetooth Speakers
- Dimmers for LED products
