Indonesia – SDPPI New Regulation for Increased Certification Fee

SDPPI Updated Technical Standards for Short-Range Devices

The Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (SDPPI), has issued a new regulation regarding certification fees and it will be effectively implemented in mid-November 2023.

In this directive, SDPPI will increase the fees for Certificate Issuance and Local Testing. Within this directive, the submission rates will be determined based on the following categories:

1 Certificate Issuance Using Domestic (Local) Test Report
2 Issuance of Certificates Using Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) Overseas Test Reports for Mobile Phone, Handheld Computer and Tablet Computer devices (HKT)
3 Issuance of Certificates Using Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) Foreign Test Reports or a combination of Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) for Mobile Phones, Handheld Computers, and Tablet Computers (HKT) devices.
4 Issuance of Certificates Using a Combination of Domestic Test Report and Overseas Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) Test Report for Mobile Phone, Handheld Computer and Tablet Computer devices (HKT)
5 Issuance of Certificates Using a Combination of Domestic Test Report and Foreign Test Report Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) or Combination of Domestic Test Report, Foreign Test Report Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) for Mobile Phone, Handheld Computer, and Tablet Computer (HKT) devices
6 Issuance of Certificates Using Test Reports Overseas Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for devices other than Mobile Phones, Handheld Computers and Tablet Computers (HKT)
7 Issuance of Certificates Using Foreign Test Reports Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) or a combination of Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) for devices other than Mobile Phones, Handheld Computers, and Tablet Computers (HKT)
8 Issuance of Certificates Using a Combination of Domestic Test Report and Foreign Test Report Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for devices other than Cellular Phones, Handheld Computers, and Tablet Computers (HKT)
9 Issuance of Certificates Using a Combination of Domestic Test Report and Foreign Test Report Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) or Combination of Domestic Test Report, Foreign Test Report Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and Non Mutual Recognition Arrangement (Non MRA) for devices other than Cellular Phones, Handheld Computers, and Tablet Computers (HKT)

 

After reviewing the updated fees, it remains that the paperwork-based method of submission for approval continues to be associated with the highest costs, whereas the testing option typically proves to be a more cost-effective alternative.
