MIC public consultation

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has announced the opening of public comments for the proposed technical conditions concerning the 433 MHz band used in Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems. These regulations are part of the country’s ongoing efforts to enhance low-power wireless systems, ensuring better performance and compatibility with international standards.

The draft, developed by the Land Wireless Communications Committee, is aimed at ensuring the safe and efficient use of this spectrum band, which is critical for automotive technologies like TPMS and RKE. The public comment period runs from September 7, 2024, to October 7, 2024, and stakeholders are encouraged to share their insights.

This initiative is a significant step in advancing automotive technology regulations, reflecting Japan’s commitment to staying at the forefront of wireless communication standards. The results of this consultation will help shape the final technical conditions, ensuring that both manufacturers and users benefit from clearer, more effective guidelines.
