On September 2 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan amended Ministerial ordinance of Japanese radio law to allow Wi-Fi systems to be used in the 6 GHz band.
The amendment will allow operation in the 5925-6425 MHz band to permit certification of Wi-Fi 6E devices. Devices can be used indoors with a power level of 200mW EIRP; or indoor and outdoors with a power level of 25mW EIRP.
