The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced that devices operating in the 869 MHz to 870 MHz range will be no longer permitted after January 1st, 2018. This as well as the 868.1 MHz band for Security Devices will be included in the cancellation. Also, the MCMC announced that devices operating in the 477.012 MHz to 477.4875 MHz and 477.5250 MHz to 477.9875 MHz will only be allowed until December 31st, 2020.
The affected bands and equipment type:
- 868.1 MHz – Security Devices
- 869 MHz to 870 MHz – Short Range Devices & Radio Frequency Identification Devices
- 477.0125 MHz to 477.4875 MHz & 477.5250 MHz to 477.9875 MHz – Personal Radio Service
No new application for the listed equipment operating in the above frequencies will be allowed.
