Malaysia – Certification of 6 GHz Band for Wi-Fi Prohibited

Malaysia 3400-3700 MHz band

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is currently reviewing the potential use of the Wi-Fi 6 GHz band. Therefore, during the review process, certification of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi is prohibited.

Before submitting an application, applicants should ensure that the 6 GHz band is disabled for the equipment. As a result, to ensure deactivation, the device must undergo validation testing at the SIRIM RF&EMCT laboratory. Certification and importation of devices operating in 6 GHz frequency band under Special Approval (Company and Individual (SA & CL)) are not permitted until further notice.
