The Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télécommunications (ANRT) in Morocco published Décision ANRT/DG/N°12-23 on the technical specifications approval of terminal equipment and radio installations. The Decision introduces 5G Standalone (SA) technology for cellular devices within the country. It also states all cellular devices will be required to have a minimum of 4G technology, and devices relying solely on 2G and 3G technology will no longer be eligible for approval. New standards for technologies such as 6GHz WiFi 6E, GPON, GNSS, and ESIM are introduced.
