Morocco – CMIM Mark

Beginning August 1, 2019, manufacturers of products subject to the CMIM mark will be required to affix the mark to the products before arriving to customs for clearance. Failure of manufacturers to comply could result in a rejection of the shipment at customs. The mark should be affixed visibly, legibly, and indelibly to the electrical and electronics products or to its data plate. In the past, Importers were allowed to affix the mark after clearing the goods.

In addition, the manufacturer is required to prove that the product complies with the safety requirements of the effective regulations by presenting the relevant technical documentation and Declaration of Conformity in Arabic.

The CMIM mark is mandatory for all devices that fall under the scope of the Moroccan LVD/EMC Directive.

LVD – stipulates technical regulations for electrical material destined to be employed at a nominal tension between 50 – 1000 volts for AC, and 75-1500 for DC.

EMC – establishes specific technical regulations for electromagnetic compatibility of equipment, excluding wireless and telecommunications terminals and other types of equipment.
