Nigeria – Federal Government Approves 5G Deployment

NCC Family Type Approval

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the deployment of the 5G Network in the country. As a result, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has been instructed to begin immediate implementation of the 5G plan.

According to the announcement, the NCC has been directed to commence the development of a regulatory plan to address issues related to health, safety and others to drive effective implementation of the roll-out of 5G. In addition, The National Frequency Management Council (NFMC), is expected to release the 5G Spectrum to the NCC for auction to MNOs who will need the spectrum for 5G deployment. iCertifi will update the progress as we receive more information.
