The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued a list of products exempt from Type Approval. The following equipment will not require type approval and the manufactures may coordinate with Customs Authorities for the procedures of release of the following:
- Networking Equipment (Switches, Servers, Firewalls, Storage Devices)
- Laptops/Desktops/Personal Computers (PC)
- Tablet PC with WiFi Only Function (Non-Sim Based)
- GPS Only Devices
- Smart Watches with BT/WiFi Function Only Without Sim or Tracking Features)
- RFID/BT/NFC Devices
- WiFi Access Points Operating in ISM Band (2.4 – 2.5 GHz, 5.725 – 5.875 GHz) and Conform to PSA ISM Band Regulation SRO 287(I)/2016
- Low Powered Short Range Key Less Entry System/Remote Controls on Non-interference Basis
