On August 1, 2022, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) published the Draft Regulations for Telecom Equipment’s Standards 2022.
The Regulation defines the minimum technical standards for Telecommunication Equipment including Health & Safety, Radio Frequency (RF) Communication Standards, Electromagnetic Compatibility Standards (EMC) and also Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)/Human Exposure – applicable for all Mobile Devices using the required radio Frequency.
It is worth mentioning that Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has now been included by Pakistan Authority as an acceptable testing standards body for Telecommunication Equipment.
