On February 14, 2022, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), published the Regulatory Framework for Short Range Devices (SRD) & Terrestrial Internet of Things (IoT) Services.
The objective of this regulatory framework is to provide regulatory guidelines for PTA Type Approval and defines all allowed spectrum bands and output power ranges. All SRD and IoT devices operating in the specified frequency bands must apply for mandatory type approval certification. PTA shall start accepting Class Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) Licensing applications from March 31, 2022.
