As we informed in September 2018, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued a list of products exempt from Type Approval. PTA has recently revised the list and now the following equipment will not require approval:
- Networking Equipment (Switches, Servers, Firewalls, Storage Devices)
- Laptops/Desktops/Personal Computers (PC)
- Tablet PC with WiFi Only Function (Non-Sim Based)
- GPS only devices
- Smart Watches with BT/WiFi Function Only Without Sim or Tracking Features)
The new list was published in December 2018 and is now in effect, view the list here.
