The Russian Federal Security Service (FSS) that is in charge of registering devices with encryption capabilities, will no longer provide original hard copies of issued FSS Notifications to their applicants.
The FSS Exemption letter has the same purpose as the FSS Notification and should be obtained for products which contain encryption (cryptographic) capabilities but are not indicated in the list of products subject to FSS Notification. These Exemption letters will still be provided in the form of an original hard copy.
