According to the information we received, the new regulations will be implemented in the next two-three months. We are expecting this to include increased cost for the type approval fees as well. They will be requiring a sample for testing for the following types of equipment:
• Telephone/Cell Phone
• Tablets
• Laptops
• Keyless Entry
• Handheld equipment
All information was received by our local team located in Rwanda. This team met with RURA about the revised practice of type approval. Until these decisions are effectively implemented, companies that enter or intend to enter the Rwandan telecom market can proceed as normal.
